Announcing 2021 Spring & Summer Internships
The wedding industry seems to be on the cusp of rebounding after the bleak year that was 2020. We are looking to fill two internships, for Spring and Summer of this year. This opportunity is designed for someone pursuing a career in graphic design for print. We are looking for candidates who have some intermediate graphic design skills, who are also comfortable working with their hands on the physical aspects of invitation and stationery production. We have a casual working environment, but the materials we produce are anything but casual. We are looking for candidates with an innate attention to detail, who are eager for hands-on experience in this refined segment of the design and event industry.
Prerequisites:
Skilled at using a guillotine style paper cutter.
Paper crafting experience and the ability to line up and center “by eye”.
Preferred Experience:
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator
Familiar with Excel/Google Sheets
Two Internships Available
Spring 2021: February 22 - May 14 (12 weeks)
15 hours/week (schedule extremely flexible)
Summer 2021: May 17 - Aug 30 (15 weeks)
12 hours/week (schedule extremely flexible)

Tentatively, these internships are in-person roles. There may be days when some work can be done remotely, but since this is truly a hands-on experience we will expect in-person to be the norm.
We will keep close contact to a minimum, and will require face coverings whenever we are sharing indoor space, until further notice.
What you will learn
A solid understanding of wedding invitation conceptualization, graphic design, and production.
In-depth knowledge: Prepping files for printing, Logistics and Assembly of a wedding invitation suite, Understanding of luxury print processes, paper types and standard print sizing.
Insider knowledge of suppliers and industry standards.
Customer service skills: How to speak to clients and get them to trust you, How to sell to clients at different price points, How to manage client expectations and timelines.
What you will earn
$2,160 Stipend, split in 3 payments, paid in arrears.
