Katie Rotio, owner and designer at Katherine Elizabeth Events:

I got into the wedding and stationery business through my passion for design and a curiosity for graphic arts. I  started out working with my family and friends, creating unique wedding and shower invitations for their most important life events. I had so much fun doing it that I began to consider a career change. My friends and family eventually convinced me to go into business, and Katherine Elizabeth Events was born with the help of Etsy. From invitations, I branched out to event stationery (programs, place cards, menus, thank you notes, etc.) so that my client's unique style can be seen in all the paper accessories throughout their event.  In 2014, I started selling my Paper Florist collection; unique, handmade floral bouquets and arrangements made out of paper that will last forever.

From May 2013 to May 2015 I lived in Missouri, where I partnered with A Bride's Ally, offering day-of wedding coordination and planning support for St. Louis area brides. In June of 2015 I moved my business to New York City, and continued to expand my offerings. 2016 will bring big changes and growth as we continue to add new staff, new products and new services!

In my free time I enjoy dancing, cooking, golfing, skiing, photography, and seeking out great bars and eateries. I am originally from Boston and currently live and work in New York City. The nice part of my business is that I can take it anywhere--I love meeting clients face to face, but modern technology provides me the opportunity to work with design clients thousands of miles away.
